And no I’m not talking about my flip buddy, ArmybratKat. Turns out Japan makes all sorts of flavored Kit Kats in addition to the original chocolate. Awesome right? However, this is typical in Japan. They make a lot of seasonal/limited items which I wish would happen in the states more often. Hint hint!

Dong Bang Shinki (DBSK or TVXQ) has confirmed that they’ve been banned on Music Station, TRL of Japan, regardless of being chart toppers for the past few weeks on Oricon Daily and Weekly. Music Station usually invites the top 10 artists on the charts to perform on the show except for DBSK.

Why? No idea, but conspiracy theories say it’s because Music Station has a secret agreement with Johnny’s Entertainment – Japanese talent agency. Even though Johnny’s Entertainment’s main company, Johnny & Associates, Inc., does deals with Avex Trax (TVXQ’s Japanese label) all the time. Supposedly they’re doing it because having TVXQ perform will threaten the label.

Honestly, they have nothing on Avex Trax, the biggest label in Japan who also owns a lot of other labels like Rhythm Zone. I’m sure fans will cry out against Music Station and Johnny’s Entertainment and eventually the sexy DBSK will get their chance on the show. Especially since their recent single is so hard to resist.

The girls in Ms. Motoko Okubo classroom at Tokyo Joshi Gakuen Middle School in Tokyo, Japan have got to be the luckiest girls. Apparently, their administration thought it would be an awesome idea if they started using the Nintendo DS as a method of teaching English. Well they’ve been experimenting since late May and so far the results have been impressive. The students not only enjoy playing the DS, but the average vocabulary per student has increased by 35% - pretty impressive for a 2 month span. It also has had a positive impact on the slackers.

Turns out Utada Hikaru has been known to be both. She has played the game everyday since she was five years old! Then a couple years ago she played in a broadcasted Tetris tournament against thirty contest winners. Out of the thirty players, she was only defeated by four. Three out of the four players were among the first to go up against her. After what seemed like a warm up, she became unbeatable. She later posted her 99,999,999 score and stated:

You need perservance or obstance to make it this far. (lol) A woman’s obstance! Hahahahaha!

Geez wtf America? This week was also another crazy episode that shouldn’t have happened. The challenge for this week was “bring the beat” where each crew had to make their own beat using specific props related to a high school gym. Again, sounds like episode 4 of last season.

The actual name is BenihaNa. Thanks Andrew!

So last night I was in New York with a friend (let’s call her Jane) and we ate at a hibachi restraurant called Benihana. Hibachi is a Japanese cuisine where they cook right in front of you while doing some neat tricks (i.e. flipping shrimp into their hats or people’s mouths). I haven’t been to one in a year, but from my experience last night, nothing has changed.

So while surfing on Youtube, I “StumbleUpon” a cute video of a Japanese girl that has baby red pandas as pets. After watching the video 20+ times, I couldn’t help but feel overly happy that such a cute animal can kick ass. Eat your heart out Paris Hilton!

Japan is known for having the weirdest and cutest animals (penguins, duck loving dogs, etc) but I never thought having a panda would be legal or much less possible. Then again in Japan they do everything. As soon as I can, I’m buying me one and training it to blog for me.

Well this week was different. I wasn’t expecting all the twists and drama. Definitely a step up from last week but makes me think twice about whether or not the show is rigged for views. Then again aren’t they always? The show opened up with an all crew number that wasn’t that strong; however, that wasn’t the tone for the rest of the show.
